Patterns for Klez

By the Grammy-award winning trumpeter-composer and co-founder of the Klezmatics, Patterns for Klez is both a collection of technical studies and a primer in the language and vocabulary - the semiotic building blocks - of Klezmer/Yiddish music. It is inspired by Claude Gordon's Technical Studies and Oliver Nelson’s Patterns for Improvisation. Working through these exercises will help the student achieve fluidity on their instrument while simultaneously becoming fluent in the Klezmer idiom.
