JMPG (Jewish Music Publishing Group)’s mission is to achieve wide-spread distribution
of its publications within the general or commercial music market, which includes
schools, colleges, community, and professional ensembles. In an effort the reach as
many people as possible, the company publishes works in every genre, including choral,
opera, vocal and instrumental music for piano and other solo instruments, chamber
ensembles, bands and orchestras.
The Jewish Music Publishing Group (JMPG) was formed to offer a new outlet to
composers of Jewish music primarily in the United States, but also in Israel. It has both
ASCAP (JMPG) and BMI (Am Olam) subsidiaries to accommodate composers of those
membership affiliations. It also works with ACUM, the rights organization in Israel, as
well as other foreign affiliates of ASCAP and BMI.
The company is also a member of J-License, a royalty collection agency music-
performance in synagogues. The Jewish Music Publishing Group’s highest priority is new
Jewish music, but it is also committed to preserving older Jewish music from all periods
and giving it the exposure and distribution it rightly deserves and may not have
received.
